Do you pay Tax?

Then please join the Gift Aid Scheme

If you are a UK taxpayer, you could add 28p to every pound you give to the parish at no extra cost to yourself through the Gift Aid scheme.
For example, if you give £10 using Gift Aid, that gift is worth £12.82 to us.

In order for the Parish to benefit from your donations:

Once you have registered:

  • You will be sent your unique Gift Aid number to identify your contributions
  • Simply make your contributions (Cash or Cheque) using the blue envelopes available in church, making sure to put your Gift Aid number on the envelope

Frequently asked questions

How much tax must I pay to be able to take part in Gift Aid?
You can join provided you are a U.K taxpayer and pay an amount of income tax at least equal to the amount of any refund reclaimed by the parish on your donation.

Do I have to make a binding commitment?
No. Gift Aid is not a binding commitment and the parish will only claim back a tax refund on the actual amount you have given. You will not be asked to make up any missed payments, unless you choose to do so.

What if I stop paying income tax or wish to cancel?
Inform the Organiser and we will cancel your Declaration.

Can I change the amount I give?
Yes. You can increase and decrease the amount you give at any time without having to complete a new declaration.

What happens if I change my address?
Just inform the Parish Gift Aid organiser, David Wiles, by contacting the Presbytery by letter for his attention or by completing the contact form on this website (click here to use the website Contact Us form)

Is Gift Aid confidential?
Yes. You do not have to disclose details of your income, savings, pension or any other details.

What if I move to another parish?
All you have to do is inform your new Parish Gift Aid organiser that you are already Gift Aid registered.

I already give in the offertory collection. Will it cost me more to join the Gift Aid scheme? Is it something extra?
No - it will cost you nothing extra. You are not being asked to give more money, simply to sign a declaration so that the parish can reclaim the tax refund on your giving. HMRC is only handing back to the parish the income tax you have already paid, so it will not affect you in any way.

How do I sign a declaration?
Simply print off and complete the Gift Aid form & hand it in to the Presbytery, marking it as GIFT AID.

IT'S SO SIMPLE AND IT HELPS THE PARISH SO MUCH
EVERY £1 YOU GIVE IS WORTH £1.28 TO THE PARISH

(n.b. If you do not pay tax, you should not use Gift Aid)
