Dear Fellow Parishioners,

As you will be aware, the Parish Social Centre roof has been in need of replacement for some time - the water damage in the hall has been evident for three years. Following the unusually heavy rainfall this winter, the committee room and lounge are now both badly affected and we urgently need to raise money to replace the roof as soon as possible.

We could never hope to achieve our target by our usual fund-raising events, and now have to call on your generosity. Our first aim is to raise £50,000 to cover the cost of the new roof and start on the refurbishment of the Social Centre.

There are envelopes at the back of the church both for those who can Gift-aid and for those not in the scheme. Please ensure all donations are clearly marked 'BUILDING FUND'. Please put them in the boxes at the back of both churches marked 'BUILDING FUND'. Please make cheques payable to 'Our Lady Immaculate Church, Whitstable'.

We are very grateful for all your support over the years and, with our continued generosity, we are sure we shall reach our target without having to take ou a loan.

Thank you.

About us

The Catholic parish of Whitstable includes the whole town from Swalecliffe to Seasalter, out towards Blean and including Dargate.

We have two churches, the parish church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception to give it its full name - but more commonly called Our Lady Immaculate - in Northwood Road and our smaller church of St.Joseph in Chestfield Road,Chestfield. We have the valuable Parish Social Centre in Castle Road(just behind the parish church).

And finally the Presbytery at 37, Kingsdown Park with the Scout Headquarters beside it which is put to very good use by our, happily, growing Uniformed Organisations.

The website will be expanded as time goes on and I hope you will find it a valuable resource in your own spiritual journey.
